Hawks bound for Baltimore for pair of MEAC matches

PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland — Maryland Eastern Shore volleyball takes an unblemished Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) record to Charm City this week for two matches, battling Coppin State at 6 p.m. Thursday followed by Morgan State at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

The Hawks boast a winning streak against both squads, earning three straight victories against the Bears and four straight over the Eagles. The Shore leads Coppin State in the all-time series 31-11, but trail to Morgan State 23-12.

While Maryland Eastern Shore has propelled themselves to the top of the MEAC North standings with wins over Howard, Norfolk State and Hampton, both the Bears and Eagles find themselves in an early battle for the crucial fourth place spot in the division. The two teams are tied along with Delaware State with a 1-2 mark in conference play.

Both matches will take place on the home team’s campus. Thursday’s match will be held at Coppin’s Physical Education Complex Auxiliary Gym and Friday’s match will be held at Morgan State’s Hill Field House.
