FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Sacred Heart University Hampton Inn Invitational announced their All-Tournament Team over the weekend and two University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) standouts were on the squad. Senior Jingqiao Li (Beijing, China) and Petra Jerabkova (Czech Republic) were both recognized for their play in the event.

Li was again a defensive rock for the Hawks, posting 66 digs in the three matches and adding three assists from her libero position. She recorded over 20 digs twice, including a career high 28 against Manhattan in the opening match.

Jerabkova saw her first collegiate action in the event and made quite the impression. She came up one digs shy of a triple double in the opening match and went on the tally 24 kills, 41 assists, a pair of aces, 32 digs and six total blocks over the 11 sets.

The Hawks went 0-3 in the outing as the 11 new players are still learning to play together. American went a perfect 3-0 while Sacred Heart went 2-1 and Manhattan 1-2.

Joining Li and Jerabkova on the All-Tournament Team were Kelly McCaddin and Megan Rosenberg from American, Diania Mercado and Ana Gonzalez from the host Pioneers and Allie Yamashiro and Malia McGuinness of Manhattan.

UMES heads to Norfolk, Va. next weekend, September 13-14, 2013, to take on Charlotte, Bethune-Cookman and Norfolk State in the Spartan Invite.
