PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) volleyball team is pleased to announce Rondolyn Bryant as the first new Lady Hawk to join the team next season, the announcement came today. The Lady Hawks ended the 2013 season 3-21 overall (2-10 MEAC) and returns 11 players from last season, including Sonia Rosales (Victorville, Calif.), Haley Robinson (Honolulu), and Ashley Smith (Huntley, Ill.).

“We are thrilled to have Ro (Rondolyn) join us next season,” said Millicent Van Norden, UMES Volleyball head coach. “She is an all-round athlete and provides depth to our team.”

Last season, Bryant attended McKinley High School (New Orleans, La.) and guided the team to a playoff berth in the Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) Tournament. Bryant finished her senior campaign with 67 kills, 30 blocks, 23 digs, seven service aces, and two assists.

"It means a lot," Bryant said. "It just means all the hard work I put into it, starting in middle school and high school, it's just all paying off.”

Jingqiao Li (Beijing, China) is the lone senior from last season not returning for the Lady Hawks. UMES looks to return back to their winning ways during the 2014 volleyball season.
