WASHINGTON, D.C. - Christina Estebane' had a triple double to lead the visiting Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks (UMES) to a 3-1 (30-20, 30-19, 27-30, 30-23) Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) win over Howard Tuesday night at Burr Gymnasium on their senior day.

With the win UMES moves to 9-0 in the MEAC, one win away from a perfect conference record and runs thier win streak to 18, the second longest in the nation. They are behind only Nebraska, the current number one team in the country.

Estebane' had 15 kills, 33 assists and 10 digs for the MEAC North leading Hawks. Whitney Johnson added a double-double of 11 kills and 10 digs while Holiday Eller chipped in 11 kills. Samantha Chukwura also added double-digit kills and finished with 10, while libero Leah Amundson dug out a match-high 24 balls.

Janel James paced Howard with a double-double of 14 kills and 10 digs. Elyssa Lee chipped in 12 kills while Nicole Brown added a team-high 21 digs. Maxwell fell one kill shy of a double-double and finished her last home match with nine kills and 11 digs.

The Bison (5-22, 4-5 MEAC) held Eastern Shore to a .000 hitting percentage in its game three victory. Howard picked up 20 block assists compared to 10 by UMES (20-3, 9-0 MEAC) and held a 42-38 advantage in set assists. Despite being topped in a few categories, UMES outhit Howard .157 to .064, out served the Bison with 11 aces to four and out dug them 70-65.

The 11 aces are right on pace with the Hawk's current average of three per game. They lead the nation in that category.

UMES now travels to Hampton to close out the MEAC season on the 29th of the month and plays their final regualr season match on November 2nd when they host North Carolina Central.
