Shore Falls to Coppin State in First Action of the Season

CAMBRIDGE, Maryland The Hawks fell to Coppin State 5-2 on Saturday at Bay Country Racquet Club.

The Shore got a win in both singles and doubles play. Hawks No. 1 Sarah Adewumi defeated Tinashe Gwaze 7-5, 4-6, 12-10 in a back-and-forth match. The combination of Michal Kittrell and Alese Brown won the No. 2 doubles match for the Hawks over Ajla Hrnjic and Tanna Nita.

The Hawks will be back in action on March 21 at Hampton for another conference matchup.
