Sophomore Trenece Nash (pictured) earns All-Tournament honors at the CCU Invitational

CONWAY, S.C. – The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) softball Trenece Nash (Decatur, Ga.) was named to the 2014 Coastal Carolina Invitational All-Tournament Team, the announcement came this evening. The Lady Hawks ended the three-day tournament 0-5 overall.

Nash was the lone Maryland Eastern Shore player to make the team as she finished the tournament hitting .500 (5-of-10), including two doubles, two RBIs, two runs, two walks, and a homer against Saint Peter’s University.

Coastal Carolina University (CCU) and Samford University highlighted the all-tournament team as both clubs recognized four student-athletes each. Marshall University had two representatives while Saint Peter’s senior pitcher Erica Colon was the only Peacock to make the team. This Friday (03/07), Maryland Eastern Shore heads to Catonsville, Md. to face the Retrievers of Maryland Baltimore-County (UMBC) in a doubleheader. Game-times are set for 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. (EST), respectively.

Two days later (03/09), UMES opens their home opener against UMBC at Hawks Field, located in Princess Anne, Md. for another doubleheader. First-pitches are scheduled for noon and 2:30 p.m. (EST), respectively.
