PRINCESS ANNE, MD - - Kristen Greenwood struck out 14 batters and Kendra Saunders finished with four RBI to help the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) to a pair of victories, 7-4 and 9-1, over Coppin State University (CSU) in a non-conference softball doubleheader Saturday afternoon at Hawks Field. The wins ended a 26-game losing streak for the Lady Hawks.

UMES (4-32) took a 4-0 lead early in the first game when Brooke Downey's double plated Tiana Strother and Shakeyah Habib in the second inning. Saunders capped the four run inning for the Hawks after her left field double scored Downey and Jaleesa Lewis.

CSU scattered four runs over the next three innings to tie things up at 4-4, but the maroon and gray sealed the win in the bottom sixth after scoring three runs on two Eagle errors.

Greenwood struck out six batters in the opener while fanning eight in the nightcap. Saunders finished 2-4 with a pair of RBI while Downey and Greenwood picked up a hit each. Downey also added two RBI for good measure.
