During the 2009 season, Douglas was named 2009 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Coach of the Year after leading the Lady Hawks to their first 20-win season since 1996 and their first winning season in more than six years with a 20-18 record. In that same season, Douglas coached four Lady Hawks to MEAC All-Conference, including Mishayla Truttman and Kendra Sanders making first team while Chelsea Logan and Kristi Miranda receiving second team.

In 2008, Douglas led the Lady Hawks to six more wins than the previous season and finished 10-34 overall (3-12). Douglas also saw Kendra Saunders earn 2008 MEAC All-Conference Second Team.
