PRINCESS ANNE, MD. - The Shore will host a new bowling camp this summer designed especially for the future college bowler. Youth ages 12-18 are encouraged to sign up for The Hawk Bowling Elite Camp, June 18-21 on the campus of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. The camp is the brainchild of Coach Kayla Bandy who wants to share her experience as a youth bowler who transitioned to a college bowler and now a collegiate coach and professional bowler.

"This camp is something I wish I had when I was young," said Bandy. "It will be designed to teach the young prep bowler what they need to know to become a college bowler and maybe beyond."

The camp format can be overnight or extended day and will take advantage of the Sharon D. Brummell Bowling Lanes right on campus. It is priced at $425 dollars for overnight campers and $300 for extended day campers. The cost includes 10 meals, camp shirt, lane work, pro shop work, classroom sessions on nutrition, strength and conditioning, ball dynamics, college entry requirements, recruiting and more. It also includes a Storm Demo Day and instruction from PWBA athletes. The overnight campers will also receive three nights in a college dorm.

"It is an ambitious plan," said Bandy. "But I really think this will be great. For those youth who love bowling and think it might be something they want to pursue in college, this can really help prepare them for that opportunity. If they just want to learn about how to be a better bowler and a better athlete, we have something for them too. It is a great chance to learn about how you market yourself as a bowler and how you get better as a bowler. I'm excited to see this camp in action."

Camp starts on Monday, June 18 at Noon with check in and the camp activities begin at 1 p.m. Camp ends on Thursday the 21 at Noon. "This is a great opportunity for the youth bowler to learn what it takes to get into a college bowling program. It is also a great opportunity for their families to visit the Eastern Shore, just minutes away from Ocean City, MD, parents can drop their kids off at camp and then head to the beach for a mini vacation!"

Registration is open here. All participants are encouraged to register online and print out the waivers and bring with them the first day. Registrations will be accepted only through the online portal and because of the nature of the camp, will not allow walk-ups.
