NORFOLK, Va. - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) women's bowler Tatiana Munoz (Ibague Tolima, Colombia) was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowling Athlete of the Week for matched played March 14-16 the conference announced earlier this week.

At the first post-season event for the Hawks, Munoz qualified to compete in the Intercollegiate Singles Championships, taking third overall to earn a spot. Teammate Mariana Alvarado (Leon, Mexico) took fourth, also earning a spot.

Munoz shot a 211.8 average over the six games of qualifying. The next day she helped guide UMES to a third place team finish to qualify the team for the Intercollegiate Team Championships, allowing UMES a chance to defend their 2013 USBC National Championship. In those 64 Baker games Munoz had an 86% fill percentage and a 90% single-pin spare percentage.

Munoz and the Hawks are headed to the MEAC Championships this weekend in Chesapeake, Va. March 21-23 and look to defend their conference championship.
