The Shore can’t stop Hornets, finish 2nd in MEAC North No. 2

MILLSBORO, Delaware -

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore finished Sunday’s Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference No. 2 meet with a 3-1 record and a second-place finish behind rival Delaware State.

The difference in the final standings came down to a 924-882 loss to the Hornets in the third match of the day. Delaware State finished the event 7-1 overall.

The Hawks (35-19, 12-4 MEAC) opened the day with a 903, 864 Baker win against Coppin State and then topped Morgan State 938-849. The loss to Del. State came next followed by a 904-864 decision against Howard.

Eastern Shore will now have a long holiday break between semesters. The will next travel to Heister Lanes in Reading, Pennsylvania for the KU (Kutztown) Invitational, Jan. 19-21.
