Hawks flip-flop opener performance on Day 2 of Stormin' Ladyjack Classic

HOUSTON, Texas -

The University of Maryland Eastern dropped four of five traditional matches on Saturday (Feb. 17) at the Stormin’ Ladyjack Classic to enter the final day of competition with a 5-5 record and in seventh place.

The second round of competition featured five 5-game traditional matches on the second day of pool play at the Copperfield Bowl in Houston, Texas.

The Hawks (57-33, 12-4 MEAC) opened the day with a 1,182-975 loss to defending NCAA Champion McKendree. Next came a 1,126-989 loss to Nebraska. Next came a 1,083-984 loss to Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference rival North Carolina A&T State.

Eastern Shore did pick up a 945-925 victory against Arkansas State, but then fell to Louisiana Tech 910-902.

Jacqueline Rhoda (Portage, Indiana) finished in 28th place as an individual with a five-game average of 200.20, while Alexandra Hernandez (Maricaibo, Venezuela) averaged 193.40 over five games for 37th place.

Bracket play on Day 3 of competition begins Sunday (Feb. 18) at 8:30 a.m.
