NORFOLK, Va. - Two University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's basketball games and one women's basketball game will be televised in 2010-11 as part of the MEAC's seven-year partnership with ESPNU, the league announced Tuesday.

Men's games at Hampton on Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. and at Morgan State on Feb. 21 at 9 p.m. highlight the slate of UMES games. The front end of the women's-men's doubleheader at Hampton is also part of the package and will begin at 4:30 p.m. live from the HU Convocation Center.

The UMES-Hampton women's game is one of just four games shown on ESPNU as part of the agreement. In all, the network will feature 10 MEAC men's and three women's regular-season games. Men's basketball games at Pittsburgh (Dec. 18, 7 p.m.) at Colorado (Dec. 29, 8 p.m.) and at Oklahoma (Jan. 3, 8 p.m.) will also air on FSN Pittsburgh, FSN Rocky Mountain and Sooner Sports Network, respectively.

The 2011 MEAC Championship Tournament will also air on the ESPN networks with the women's championship game scheduled for a taped-delayed telecast airing on March 13 at 11 a.m. on ESPNU while the men's championship game will televised live on ESPN2 beginning at 2 p.m. on March 12.

The 2010-11 television schedule tips off on Monday, Jan. 10 featuring Bethune-Cookman at North Carolina A&T. The game will air live at 7 p.m. on ESPNU. The action continues on Jan. 15 in Baltimore, Maryland with the two-time defending tournament and regular season champion Morgan State Bears hosting the South Carolina State Bulldogs. The game will air live beginning at 5 p.m. on ESPN2.

For the third straight year MEAC men's basketball teams will participate in the annual BracketBusters event, a three-day men's college basketball extravaganza pitting potential NCAA Tournament hopefuls against each other.

The Morgan State Bears, who have competed in all three years as the MEAC representative, will be joined by Delaware State, making its debut this year. For the sixth straight year, ESPNU, the 24-hour college sports network, will feature five BracketBusters games while ESPN or ESPN2 will televise up to six contests. The 11 BracketBusters matchups will be announced Jan. 31.

The UMES men's basketball team opens its season hosting Tulane Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. while the women host UMBC Nov. 14 at 3 p.m.
