Hawk Basketball ticket sales rise as season opener looms
Oct. 31, 2017

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Basketball season is starting on the Eastern Shore as the Hawks get ready to showcase their skills this week. Men's Basketball plays an exhibition on Nov. 2 before both the men and women open the regular season at home on Nov 10. And fans can catch all the action for the 2017-18 season live in the Hytche Center when they purchase a season ticket, which are on sale now at umestickets.com

"We want everyone to experience the excitement that is basketball on The Shore," said Director of Athletics Keith Davidson. "There is a great brand of basketball being played here in Princess Anne, and we hope our alumni, friends, fans and community will take the initiative to come out this season and support Eastern Shore Athletics."

Maryland Eastern Shore season tickets help all the Hawk teams, not just basketball, so buying a season ticket gives back; and helps to further the operation of the Division I athletic department's 15 intercollegiate teams. "And hopefully means more people in Hytche, experiencing one of the best entertainment products in the area," said head men's basketball coach Bobby Collins.

Season ticket prices held steady again this year and are just $125 for the season. That gets the fans admission into 24 home contests, including Homecoming on Feb. 23 when the Hawks take on Norfolk State.

Back again this season after a successful two seasons, are courtside seats, where the pricing held steady at $500 to sit front and center of the action. Included in the Courtside Club is a parking pass and hospitality access, as well as other perks, including a gift and deliverables during games. It also includes one pass to the 2018 MEAC Basketball Tournament in Norfolk Virginia, in March.

Again there is a Faculty/Staff discount, where University employees can purchase tickets for just $100 in the seatback section. Faculty/Staff discounts carry on throughout the courtside seating area, reducing the cost by $100 down to just $400.

Of course, season ticket holders have the option to buy hospitality access and game-day parking if they don't purchase the courtside package. The cost is just $100 for a catered meal each home date and includes a parking pass in Lot T, in close proximity to the Hytche Center.

Season ticket holders who want to attend the MEAC Tournament, held again this season in Norfolk, Va. in March, can add a single MEAC Tournament Ticket book, good for every game of the event, for just $50, a savings of over 100 percent!

Those who wish to only purchase MEAC Tournament Tickets and not the Hawk season tickets may do so for $80 before Jan. 1 and for $100 Jan. 1 and later.

Hawk fans who buy season tickets and can't make every game can donate their tickets to area children, seniors, military or first responders by letting the Hawk ticket office know in advance.

The program is designed to help alumni who want to give back to the University as well as being able to help the Eastern Shore community.

Ticket brochures are in the mail now, can be printed online or fans can purchase tickets online at umestickets.com. Single date tickets are also on sale at $8 per game or $15 per double header date (excluding Homecoming). To request a brochure to be mailed, fans may call the ticket office at 410-651-6499.
