With just two games remaining in the regular season, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore finds itself  in seventh place in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference standings looking to overtake sixth-place Howard.

The Hawks (9-17, 6-8 MEAC) hold the tiebreaker over the Bison, but with two games to go and HSU with three left to play, every game counts.

Enter Norfolk State (16-9, 9-4 MEAC) visiting for a Homecoming matchup at 2 p.m. on Saturday (Feb. 24). The fourth-place Spartans, are in the midst of a solid season, with the help of an eight-game, 56-day road trip that ended in January and already clinched their first winning season in 16 years.

Eastern Shore struggled from the field its last time out at second-place North Carolina A&T State, but has won five of its last eight games. The Hawks lineup was unsettled early due to injuries, but they seem to be finding their stride right now.

Over the last five games, the backcourt duo of juniors Ciani Byrom (Winston-Salem, North Carolina) and Keyera Eaton (Winston-Salem, North Carolina) have combined for 30.4 points, 7.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 6.4 rebounds.

Eaton is averaging 15.6 points a game and had a career-high 21 points at North Carolina Central.

The Spartans are led by senior Kayla Roberts, who currently ranks in the top-20 in program history in 11 career categories. She lead the team in scoring with 14.3 points per game to go with a team-best 7.5 rebounds. She also chips in 2.1 assists (2nd), 1.8 steals (1st) and 1.3 blocks (2nd).

The Hawks will next host Delaware State on Monday (Feb. 26) for the regular season finale at 5:30 p.m.
