UMES vs. Coppin State 2-18

The Lady Hawks "Go Green" as they take on Coppin State at the Hytche.

Richard "Magic" Ashley enters his sixth season working with the University of Maryland Eastern Shore women's basketball team.

Ashley, a native of New Castle, Del., and 2008 graduate of UMES, previously was part of head coach Fred Batchelor's staff from 2006-08 as a student assistant for women's basketball and an assistant strength and conditioning coach.

Ashley's one-year hiatus from UMES was a very successful as he helped lead the William Penn High School varsity boy's basketball team to a state championship as first assistant head coach.

Ashley's also coached in AAU (PAL All-Stars) as he helped the head coach with travel arrangements in addition to attending practices and traveling with the team throughout the east coast.

Ashley, who is pursuing a Master's degree, resides in Princess Anne, Md.
