Final Stats

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Freshman Mohin Uddin (Forestville, Md.) tallied six points at No. 3 singles, but it was not enough as the University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's tennis dropped a 7-0 decision at Howard on Saturday afternoon. The team was swept in singles and doubles play, where the Bison dominated play from start to finish.

UMES (0-5, 0-2 MEAC) was led by Uddin, who played well in both singles and doubles play. He fell by decisions of 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3 singles and teamed up with junior Joseph Journey (Detroit, Mich.) to lose 8-4 at second-doubles.

Junior Kijontray McClay (San Diego, Calif.) fell 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and joined junior Wirlen Elame (Silver Spring, Md.) to fall 8-0 at first-doubles. Elame scored one point at No. 1 singles and the Hawks rounded out play with Journey being swept at No. 4 singles.

UMES returns to play on Sunday, March 31 with a MEAC double dip against Coppin State and Norfolk State. The Hawks will begin play at 10 a.m. against Coppin State and will conclude play on the day with a 4 p.m. match against Norfolk State.
