Dec. 27, 2016

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – Coach Marshall Cropper and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Men’s Golf team unveiled its 2017 spring schedule, which features two championship events. The announcement came today.

On Feb. 25-26, Eastern Shore opens the season in Tallahassee, Fla. as they will compete in the Florida A&M (FAMU) Spring Invitational for the seventh consecutive year. Last season, the Hawks placed third overall in the tourney.

On March 2-3, the Hawks will take part in the Gary Freeman Spring Invitational, hosted by Bethune-Cookman. Maryland Eastern Shore looks to improve on their 12th place finish from a year ago.

In the final weekend (March 25-26), The Shore returns to Grasonville, Md. to compete in the Whiting-Turner Towson Invitational. This will be the fourth time Eastern Shore has taken part in the tourney, dating back to April 2013.

In their first of two championship events, Maryland Eastern Shore travels to Savannah, Ga. for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Men’s Golf Championship (April 27-29). A year ago, the club finished sixth overall.

On May 12-14, the team will conclude its season in Port St. Lucie, Fla. at the PGA Minority Championships. Last season, the Hawks had their highest finish at the event, earning sixth-place.
