PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore golf program has unveiled its 2013 spring schedule, it was announced today. The schedule features four total tournaments with participation in three different states. UMES does not begin action until the end of March, but will lump three tournaments within a one month span through April.

The Hawks open up the spring at the FAMU Spring Invitational in Tallahassee, Fla., on March 22-24. Last season, the Hawks placed fifth at the Southwood Golf Course as junior Michael Veverka (Brunswick, Md.) was 11th overall. The team will return to action the next week when they head to Grasonville, Md., from March 30 until April 2 to participate in the Whiting-Turner Towson Invitational.

After a two week layover, the Hawks will hit the road for Savannah, Ga., from April 12-14 when they compete in the MEAC Challenge. The tournament will be played at Crosswinds Golf Course, the same course the Hawks played at last November when they improved 22 strokes on day-two to place fifth amongst 13 teams.

The men will conclude their 2012-13 season with action in the PGA National Minority Championships in Port St. Lucie, Fla., on May 10-12. The showcase will be played at the Ryder and Wanamaker Courses of the PGA Golf Club.
