DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Coach Marshall Cropper and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Men’s Golf team concluded its Florida trip with an 11th place finish at the Bethune-Cookman (B-CU) Gary Freeman Spring Invitational.

The two-day, 54-hole tournament was held at the LPGA International Golf Course.

Eastern Shore was unable to find their stroke as they held the 11th spot throughout the tourney.

After day one (March 2), the Hawks shot 688 (+112) in 36 holes of play. The next day (March 3), The Shore recorded a 336 (+48); thus, finishing 140 over par in three rounds.

Junior Blair Waters (Jacksonville, Fla.) led the way, shooting 24 over par in the event. After posting an 84 (+12) in the first round, the Florida native improved his scores in the second and third rounds with 79 (+7) and 77 (+5), respectively.

Newcomer Young Lee (Mount Airy, Md.) finished nine strokes behind Waters, recording a 249 (+33).

Despite shooting 43 over par, junior Demarkis Cooper (Clinton, Md.) reached another milestone as he broke his tie with former teammate Norman Blanco on the all-time most events played list. As of today, the Maryland product has sole possession of fifth.



On March 25-26, Maryland Eastern Shore heads to Grasonville, Md. for the Towson Spring Invitational.
