CINCINNATI, OHIO--In search of its first win of the 2012-13 season, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks will travel to Ohio to face the No. 11/12 Cincinnati Bearcats. UMES enters the contest 0-8, while the Bearcats are 8-0.

Led offensively by Kyree Jones (Indianapolis), who has amassed 48 points in two games, 24 against Maryland (Dec. 5), will have his eyes on again helping the Hawks offensive efforts. Teammates Ishaq Pitt and Troy Snyderhave also been consistent scoring contributors over the Hawks last contests.

Snyder is ranked second in points per game with 12.0, while Jones leads the team with 15.0 PPG. Pitt is third with 7.0 PPG. It will take a greater effort on the Hawks part to stay within striking distance of a talented and physical Cincinnati program.

Snyder also leads the team in rebounds with an average of 6.3 RPG. Ronald Spencerholds second with an average of 6.1 RPG. The Hawks have struggled this season with protecting the paint, giving up an average of 40.0 PPG in the paint in its last four games.

UMES has also struggled with identifying consistent scoring threats each game. Players have stepped up at different times, but such inconsistency has left the Hawks fighting from behind most contests.

Cincinnati will certainly be a test for the Hawks backcourt, but UMES will have to find a way to defend, score against and slow a tough national contender.
