Bobby Collins Basketball Camp starts next week
June 15, 2017

PRINCESS ANNE, MD - University of Maryland Eastern Shore head men’s basketball coach Bobby Collins will host an individual camp for boys and girls entering first through 12th grades for the third straight year starting next week, running June 19-22 on campus at the W.P. Hytche Athletic Center.

“I really hope that area youth are able to attend our camp,” said Collins. “I developed our camp program under the premise that this area needs a premier destination for youth who want to develop their skills in the game of basketball. We want to be known for providing great fundamental teaching and team play in both a fun and safe environment.”

Collins, the Hawks’ coaching staff and several players will lead the individual camp from June 19-22. The sessions start each day at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. with drop off beginning at 8:00 a.m. To keep costs down lunch is not provided but can be purchased. Each camper receives a T-shirt and basketball. The camp is a station oriented program with each focusing on individual skills and uses contests and games and 3 on 3 play to enhance their skill set. The cost is just 100.00 per child and limited spots remain.

“I am confident that you find our instructors and facilities to be some of the finest in the country,” said Collins. “If developing your child’s basketball skills while also creating memories that will last a lifetime is what you are looking for, then I am sure you won’t be disappointed by The Bobby Collins Basketball Camp.”

Collins is heading into his fourth season at Maryland Eastern Shore and has made a name for himself, leading the Hawks to a postseason appearance in the CIT Postseason Tournament, the first NCAA post season appearance for the team since 1973-74. He has coached several All-Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) players and the 2015 Riley Wallace National Player of the Year, Mike Myers. This past season Collins took the Hawks the farthest they have been in the MEAC Tournament in 40 seasons.
