PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland - Senior co-captain Dominique Elliott (Savannah, Georgia) has been a force for University of Maryland Eastern Shore all season, with the offense running through him. He was rewarded for the work on Friday (March 5) when the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference released it’s yearly awards — voted on by the conference coaches and sports information directors.

Elliott was named first-team All-MEAC, while teammate and co-captain Devin Martin (Baltimore, Maryland) earned second-team honors and freshman Dontae Caldwell (Los Angeles, California) grabbed a spot on the All-Rookie team.

After earning third-team honors in his junior season, Elliott stepped up his game in the absence of Mike Myers. The 6-foot-8, 265-pound forward/center averaged 14.6 points, 7.9 rebounds and shot 54 percent from the field this season. He lied or tied for the team lead in rebounds in 23 of 31 games this season.

Martin leads the team in scoring at 17.2 points per game, second in assists at 2.1 per game, leads the team in 3-pointers with 66 and chips in 4.6 rebounds a contest. He scored 34 points at American University and topped it one game later with a career-high 37 at home against Central Penn.

Caldwell, averages 5.2 points, 1.2 rebounds, shot 41 percent from the floor, 35 percent from behind the arc and 82 percent from the free throw line. He scored 23 points at Old Dominion and a career-high 25 to lead the team to a road win at Coppin State.

The Hawks (10-21) are the No. 8 seed in the MEAC Conference tournament and face No. 9 seeded Morgan State (8-21) for the third time this season on Tuesday with the time still to be determined.

All Hawks games can be heard locally on Fox Sports Radio 960 AM WTGM or on Brendan Gulick and David Byrd will have the call from the Scope on the Hawks Sports Radio Network.
