NORFOLK, Va. – Senior outfielder Stephen Bull (Millsboro, Del.) picked up his third player of week award on Tuesday morning after the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference selected him as MEAC Player of the Week for the week of April 14. Bull was named Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week and an NCAA Player of the Week this past Monday.

His accolades come after he went 15-for-22 across a five-game span. Bull claims the award after hitting .681 to lead the Hawks to their first three-game win streak since 2012. The senior fell just four hits shy of the NCAA Division I record for most consecutive hits after he was 10-for-10 between four games.

He is currently riding a 19-game hit streak that dates back until March 2nd and has atleast three hits in five of the past nine games.

He highlighted his week with a 5-for-5 performance against Navy, where he had two RBI and one run to lead the Hawks to their first sweep of the Midshipmen in program history. Bull was also 4-for-4 with three runs in Saturday’s 6-5 victory over Norfolk State. He finished the NSU series going 9-for-12 with two doubles and six runs.

Courtesy of his phenomenal week, Bull saw his batting average rise .78 points from .258 to .336. He was also a force in centerfield with several big catches in the gaps. He posted 19 putouts altogether, including a season-high eight on Wednesday in the Hawks’ 8-7 win vs. Navy.

Delaware State’s Matt McClain was named MEAC Pitcher of the Week, while his teammate Ron Farley was named MEAC Rookie of the Week. UMES had two players named to the “Other Top Performers” list as freshman catcher Justin Dattilo (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and senior pitcher Bernard Parker (Waldorf, Md.) were each named.
