2018 Baseball Schedule

PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland Maryland Eastern Shore baseball announced its 2018 schedule on Friday (Jan. 19), unveiling a challenging 56 game slate that begins in February and runs through the beginning of May.

First year head coach Brian Hollamon and his team starts with a long road trip right out of the gate, traveling to Clarksville, Tennessee to fight the Austin Peay State Governors on opening weekend. The teams will play a four game series starting February 16th in the first ever meeting between them, before the Hawls move on to play Winthrop in the second weekend series.

On February 27th, the Hawks open at home in a midweek contest versus the La Salle Explorers. This game sets up a month of March that loaded with home events. The Shore will welcome Lafayette and NJIT in weekend series, and Navy as part of a home-and-home affair before Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play opens.

Coppin State will be the first MEAC opponent for the Hawks, hosting the Eagles March 17th and 18th, followed by Norfolk State the following weekend. March concludes with home doubleheaders against Mount St. Mary’s on the 27th and Delaware State on the 31st. The Mount is one of the Hawks’ most frequent non-conference contenders at 36 prior meetings, while Delaware State is the Hawks’ most contested team, with 174 previous engagements dating back to 1985.



April will mainly be spent on the road, featuring rematches with all three MEAC Northern Division foes. Eastern Shore will also travel to UMBC, Mount St. Mary’s, Towson and La Salle. Sprinkled in are four home dates, including the home finale versus Norfolk State on the 28th and 29th.

The season wraps up in May with trips to Pittsburgh, Delaware State and the regular season finale at Georgetown on the 9th. The 2018 MEAC Baseball Championship will commence on May 15th, and is hosted by reigning conference champions Bethune-Cookman.
