2018 (Senior): Rose to the rank of the Hawks’ No. 1 weekend starter as a senior ... in his penultimate season he lowered his collegiate career ERA a full point, won five games, and led the team with 55 strikeouts ... the senior season propelled him to join the ranks of the all-time best pitchers to wear the Maroon and Gray since stats were available in 1992—eighth in career ERA, fifth in strikeouts with 142, second in victories, and just two games shy of Bernie Parker’s record of 79 career appearances ... finished the season in the MEAC's top ten for ERA and was responsible for almost half of the team's wins in 2018 ... won MEAC Pitcher of the Week on May 7 after an eight inning shutout performance against Delaware State that helped propel his team to the conference tournament. 2017 (Junior): Fixture in the bullpen for the Hawks in his junior season ... excelled in MEAC play, going 2-2 with a 3.57 ERA over 10 appearances ... led all relievers in punchouts with 15 during conference play ... tied for second in total strikeouts with Marty Tolson and Dwayne Marshall ... fourth on the team in season ERA ... longest outing of the season with a four inning, two run effort in long relief versus Norfolk State ... had another excellent performance against the Spartans with a season high four strikeouts over 3 2/3 innings on May 6th.
2016 (Sophomore): Pitched in 18 contests and started in nine as a weekend pitcher ... had the second most innings pitched at 59 and 2/3 innings ... led the team in strikeouts with 40, just over six per nine innings ... tied for second most victories on the team with three ... began with a two run, five strikeout performance in his season debut against Fairleigh Dickinson ... struck out a season high nine batters against Coppin State on March 19th ... registered wins over Mount St. Mary's and two over Coppin ... member of the MEAC Commissioner's All-Academic Team.
2015 (Freshman): Had the lowest ERA among freshman pitchers in 2015 ... was used as a late inning reliever and specialist ... went 2-2 with a 5.23 ERA over 22 games ... was second among freshman in strikeouts with 18, also tying for fifth on the team overall ... debuted as a collegian by going 2.2 innings against Alabama on February 14th ... went a stretch of six innings with giving up a run between March 30th and April 12th ... At one point ERA was as low as 3.21 ... pitched to a 0.82 ERA against MEAC competition.
Personal:Born January 9, 1996 in North East, MD ... son of Toby and Susan Hoskins ... has a brother, Payton ... biology (pre-med) major at Maryland Eastern Shore ... attended North East High School, where he made the honor roll every year, completed the STEM program and competed in baseball and basketball ... also played Legion ball, where he pitched on a team that the Maryland state tournament ... lists his parents as biggest influence because they gave him the confidence to do anything he wanted to do and always believing in him ... best non-athletic accomplishment was graduating high school with a 4.3 GPA ... wants to attend graduate school and become a physician assistant upon graduation ... best advice is "You Have to Want Success as Bad as you want to Breathe" ... hobbies outside of sports include hunting and fishing ... favorite movie is Lord of the Rings ... wants to become a better ball player and win a MEAC championship while at Maryland Eastern Shore.
