Ashleigh Claybrooks (Manassas, Va.) recorded a double-double off the bench, 14 points and 14 boards, while Shawnee Sweeney (Chester, Va.) notched10 points and Chalyse Taylor (Louisville, Ky.) added eight points in a losing effort.

A WALK WITH A HAWK
The return of A Walk With A Hawk features UMES women’s basketball Breonna Evans (Melfa, Va.). The Eastern Shore of Virginia is typically regarded as a quiet sanctuary amidst the surrounding metropolitan areas of Baltimore, Washington, Hampton Roads, and Philadelphia. Evans comes from a town of more than 400 people where she followed in her brother’s footsteps to UMES with an academic scholarship. A high school standout, Evans caught the attention of UMES women’s basketball head coach Fred Batchelor.
