Rmidi Kinini takes second at Princeton Invitational

PRINCETON, New Jersey — In 2015, Hawks senior Khalil Rmidi Kinini (Malaga, Spain) was exceptional at the Princeton Invitational, finishing in sixth place. He topped that on Saturday in the 2016 edition of the meet with a runner-up time of 24:02.9 in New Jersey.

For Rmidi Kinini, his time improved by six seconds from the 2015 race and was the fastest 8k mark of his Hawk career. The senior was one second behind the winner, James Randon of Yale.

Overall the Hawk men took 12th while the women came in 19th.

Other top performers include senior Mark Blackmon (Charlotte, North Carolina) taking 45th place with a time of 25:01.2 and freshman Sharon Jerop (Nairobi, Kenya) leading the women with a 96th place time 23:17.8 in the 6k event.

Senior Jennaya Hield (Freeport, Bahamas), freshmen Silvia Guerra (Barcelona, Spain) and Neus Quinonero (Valencia, Spain) and junior Dypna Umunakwe (Bronx, New York) rounded out the scoring for the women. Junior Donovan Mundy (Jacksonville, Florida), senior Nassor Whitehead (Sunrise, Florida) and sophomore Jordan Leon (Baltimore, Maryland) contributed to the men’s score.



This is the final tune up for Maryland Eastern Shore until the 2016 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships, which will take place October 29th in Smyrna, Delaware.
