Women's Cross Country at the Cappy Anderson Invitational

2014 Cross Country: Placed in the top ten five of six times during the fall ... led off the fall with a time of 21:30.68 at the Lid Lifter to finish 10th ... fatsest time was 19:20.9 at the Del. State Invitational ... best finish of the year was a fourth place finish at the DSU XC Invitational with a time of 19:31.1 ... finished 23rd at the MEAC Championships.

2015 Indoor Season:
Ran as a mid-distance and relay runner over the winter ... had the fastest time of all Lady Hawks in the 800 meter run with a 7th place time of 2:11.18 at the Terrier Invitational ... qualified for the IC4A/ECAC Championships in the 800, coming in 9th with a time of 2:14.80 ... Hemley also took 5th at the MEAC Championships with a time of 2:16.20 ... earned a couple of top ten finishes in the mile, with her highest place being third at the Nelson Townsend Invite ... was part of the 4x400 and 4x800 relay teams that took home top five finishes at MEACs ... 4x800 team ran in the IC4A/ECAC Championships, finishing fifth with a time of 8:50.87 ... won the four-person distance medley at MEACs with a time of 12:10.36.

2015 Outdoor Season:
Was runner-up in a pair of 400 meter dash races ... earned top time of 56.02 seconds at the Wake Forest Open ... qualified to run in the IC4A/ECAC Championships for the 800 meter, finishing 11th with a time of 2:08 flat ... finished third in the same event at MEACs, just thousandths of a second behind teammate Jheniel Kelly at 2:10.06 ... was part of the 4x400 and 4x800 relay teams that brought home numerous top ten finishes, including a 4th place MEAC finish and 3rd place IC4A finish in the 4x400 and a second place time of 8:49.64 in the 4x800 relay.

Averaged out as the Lady Hawks' second most consistent runner from the cross country season...brought home a top ten time of 20:59.87 and a tenth place finish at the Hornet Invitational...improved on her 5k times throughout the fall...culminated with the second best finish of the Lady Hawks at the MEAC Championships with a 23rd place time of 19:48.60.

Personal: born on October 11, 1991...daughter of Alolith Burrell...has two sisters andseven brothers...nickname is Hemleyboo...sociology major at UMES...placed in top ten in 800m finals and the 2000m steeple chase at the Boys and Girls Championships in 2010, which she considers her best personal sports moment...competed in track and field while in high school...prays as a pregame routine...lists her mother and grandmother as her biggest influence because they want her to achieve the best in non-athletic accomplishment is passing the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) exams...hopes to work for the US Government upon graduation...favorite sayings are "The effort you put out is what you receive" and "Pain is temporary, success is forever"...hobbies outside of sports is dancing, socializing, making people laughand singing...favorite movies are The Notebook and The Game.hopes to become an advice from her is to "Aim for the sky, and never say never"
