Chouati, Gabriel highlight Hawks at IC4A/ECAC’s

PRINCETON, New Jersey — Seniors Oussama Chouati (Manresa, Spain) and Luan Gabriel (Roseau, Dominica) highlighted the Hawks performance at the IC4A/ECAC Championships in Princeton, New Jersey this past weekend.

Chouati finished third in the 3000 meter steeplechase on Saturday (May 12). His time of 8:57.95 propelled him to 27th place in the NCAA East rankings, qualifying him for the preliminary rounds later this month.

Gabriel qualified for the 200 meter finals with her time of 24.35 seconds in the preliminaries. Her time in the finals of 24.81 seconds netted her a sixth place finish.

Other top performers for the Hawks included freshman Jessica Roney (Windsor Mill, Maryland), who raced to a personal record time of 14.70 seconds in the 100 meter hurdles. Fellow freshman Janoi Brown (Randallstown, Maryland) tied a PR with his time of 22.03 seconds in the 200 dash.

Brown finished his race 12th, which tied for the third best mark for the Hawks, along with the men’s 4x400 squad of freshman Timothy Brice (Baltimore, Maryland), Brown, senior Donovan Mundy (Jacksonville, Florida), and junior Judah Corriette (Roseau, Dominica). Their time of 3:17.86 also placed 12th among the relay teams.



The IC4A/ECAC meet concludes the season for all Hawks except Chouati.
