Dec. 7, 2017

PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland — Maryland Eastern Shore track & field heads back to New York City on Friday (Dec. 8) for its second meet of the indoor season, traveling for the Seahawks Shootout.

The meet begins at 2 p.m. at the Ocean Breeze Track & Field Complex and is hosted by Wagner University. Live stats are available for the contest.

Last week the Hawks enjoyed a fine season debut at The College of New Jersey Open in Manhattan. In a meet not affected by team scoring, 24 personal records were set, and two performers—senior Luan Gabriel (Roseau, Dominica) and freshman Janoi Brown (Randallstown, Maryland)—broke the school record in the 300 meter dash.

Gabriel set the record with a time of 40.18 seconds, breaking Carol Galloway’s record dating back to 1984. Brown’s record time of 35.60 seconds toppled Gregory Thomas’ record that dates to 1981.

A full recap and results will be provided on following the meet.
