2016 Maryland Eastern Shore Lid-Lifter

The Hawks hosted five other schools in their annual Lid-Lifter on December 3, 2016.

2017 Indoor Track: Participated in the Eastern Shore Lid-Lifter before an injury cut his season short … finished third in the shot put with a distance of 11.40 meters and a runners’ up distance of 14.18 meters in the weight throw that met MEAC qualification standards.

2016 Indoor Season: Thrower for the Hawks in the winter ... had season highs of 10.67 meters in the shot put and 11.75 meters in the weight throw ... finished seventh in the shot at the UMES Lid Lifter ... took tenth in a weight throw at the Crimson Elite. 

2016 Outdoor Season: Qualified for the MEAC Championships in both the javelin and hammer throw ... holds the top javelin distance for the Hawks this season with a 43.80 meter toss at MEAC's ... placed 2nd at the Gallaudet Bison Invitational with a throw of 36.45 meters in the hammer ... threw a season high 39.03 meters at the VertKlasse Meeting in the discus.  

High School: 
competed in football, tennis and track for Middletown High School ... won the 2014 sportsmanship award for football and was a two-time state champion in that sport. 

Personal: Born St. Patrick's Day 1997 in Greenville, South Carolina ... son of Vereese Young ... has four sisters ... involved with Best Buddies and Special Olympics, and lists her involvement with Best Buddies as his best non-atheltic accomplishment ... favorite saying is "Never let someone tell you that you aren't capable."
