MEAC Indoor Championships Day One

The UMES men's team sits in first place after day one of the 2016 MEAC Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Men's Track Meet at Navy

The Hawks competed in the Wesley A. Brown Invitational in Annapolis on January 30th.

2016 Indoor Season: Jumper with occasional performances in the dashes ... topped out at 7.28 seconds in the 60 meter dash ... set a new personal best in the long jump at the MEAC Championships with a distance of 7.49 meters ... won the long jump and triple jump at the UMES Lid-Lifter in December ... named MEAC Men's Field Performer of the Week on December 9th. 

2016 Outdoor Season:
Participated in six different events before being sidelined with an injury ... set a personal best in the triple jump with his distance of 15.06 meters and a runners up spot at the Wake Forest Open ... earned MEAC Weekly Honors on March 23rd. 

2015 Indoor Season:
Competed in the long jump and triple jump this winter ... had a high of 7.04 meters at the MEAC Championships in the long jump, finishing ninth at the MEAC Championships ... took home a win in the Coach O in the triple jump, jumping for a distance of 14.71 meters, and brought home another after the Navy Invite with a distance of 14.02 meters.

2015 Outdoor Season: Won the long jump at the Mason Invitational with a distance of 7.11 meters ... competed at the MEAC Championship in the long jump, ultimately finishing in 19th place ... earned a sixth place finish at the Morgan Legacy with a distance of 14.04 meters in the triple jump.

2014 Indoor Season: competed in the long jump and triple jump this past winter...finished in the top five of the seven events he played in...earned a 2nd place finish of 12.88 meters at the UMES Invitational in January.

born on Sept. 11, 1994...son of Crystal Lightford and James Harrold...has three sisters and a brother...exercise science major at UMES...played basketball and AAU track while in high school, qualifiying for the AAU nationals in long jump...was a top 5 jumper in the state of Pennsylvania...qualified for Junior Olympics via the Mt. Airy Track Club...pre game routine includes listening to music and saying a prayer...lists his mom as his biggest influence because she wants nothing but the best and always help with problems...wants to become an athletic trainer and possible Olympic athlete after graduation...favorite saying is "God gives his best battles to his strongest warriors"...plays XBox 360, basketballand reads Sports Illustrated in his spare time...hopes to becomes a NCAA and MEAC Champion while in college.
