Megan Reid joins the Hawks' track & field team as a graduate assistant, pursuing a doctoral degree in food and agricultural science. With the track team she will assists with jumps and sprints.   

Reid hails from Manchester, Jamaica where she competed as a jumper and relay runner for Holmwood Technical High School before continuing her athletic and academic career at the University of Technology in her home country, competing under the tutelage of world-renowned coach Stephen Francis. After earning her degree in nutrition and product development, she traveled up to The Shore where she completed a master’s degree in education.

While embarking on her doctorate, Reid hopes to concentrate on two key areas—food product development and education extension in nutrition. She hopes to apply this knowledge to diabetic patients in the future with hopes of regulating blood sugar levels and hypertension. In addition to her assistance in coaching, Reid aspires to aid athletes with their nutritional intake.
