PRINCESS ANNE, Md.  – Freshman Sonia Rosales (Victorville, Calif.) and freshman Khalil Rmidi (Malaga, Spain) have been named the Peninsula Regional Medical Center University of Maryland Eastern Shore Athletes of the Week for the week of Oct. 15. This is fourth time that Rmidi has received the award, while Rosales takes it down for the second time in the past three weeks.

Rosales began the week with a 34-assist, five-kill effort at Morgan State on Friday night. She also was second on the team with five digs and had one service ace against the Bears. Her solid week continued with 19 assists and three kills at Hampton on Sunday. She also chipped in with one dig and did not have an error on the day. For the season, she leads the Hawks with 332 assists and is third in service aces (13) and digs (83).

Rmidi placed second overall at the Delaware State University Invitational on Saturday. He was the top finisher for the Hawks at the event with a time of 27:25.51, nearly 30 seconds faster than the closest Hawk competitor. Rmidi’s effort guided the Hawks to a second-place finish effort in the team standings.
