Brandon Schott (pictured) went 4-for-5 with three doubles against George Washington this week

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – Seniors Anggie Ramirez (Bogota, Colombia) and Brandon Schott (Warren, Pa.) have been name the Peninsula Regional Medical Center University of Maryland Eastern Shore Athletes of the Week for the week of March 25. This is the fourth time that Ramirez has been given the award, while Schott collects it for the first time this year.

Ramirez helped the UMES bowling team claim its sixth Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference title. She was named Most Outstanding Player of the tournament and claimed All-MEAC Tournament team honors. Ramirez helped the Lady Hawks claim second-place after day one with several scores of 200, including a 255 in the team’s win over Florida A&M. She was also named MEAC Player of the Year, collected her sixth MEAC Player of the Week honor and was named to the MEAC Academic team.

Schott had a monster week for the baseball team as he hit .455 with five doubles and seven RBI in five games. The senior highlighted the week with a 4-for-5 line from the plate with three doubles, three runs and one RBI in the Hawks’ 17-15 loss to George Washington. Schott hit safely in all five games and concluded the week with four runs and 19 putouts.
