PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Freshman Ashleigh Claybrooks (Manassas, Va.) and junior Troy Snyder (Chicago, Ill.) have been name the Peninsula Regional Medical Center University of Maryland Eastern Shore Athletes of the Week for the week of February 25. This is the second time that Claybrooks and Snyder have been honored with the award this year.

Claybrooks picks up the award after going 7-for-12 with 19 points and nine rebounds this past week. In the women's 54-50 loss to Coppin St., Claybrooks tallied eight points with five rebounds and three blocks. The freshman went on to notch 11 points and four boards behind a 4-for-8 performance from the floor in UMES' loss to Hampton later in the week.

Snyder had a huge week for the men's basketball team. He began the week with a 9-for-12 effort from the floor with 22 points and seven rebounds in UMES' 64-62 victory at Coppin St. The junior made the game-tying free throw with three seconds left to bring the game even at 55, before he buried the game-winning jumper to win the game in overtime. In the Hawks' second game against Hampton, he notched 17 points with six rebounds, four assists and four steals.
